Protect the Network and Actors

  • Eliminating surprises for actors helps create a stable work environment. Surprises destroy trust, so I do the legwork to predict any and all possible outcomes and desires for the scene to the best of my ability and then communicate those to the actors so they don’t get thrown on the day by new information.

  • Coordinating nudity rider language with actors’ representation and oversee their signing with my assistance brings clarity and helps to set expectations.

  • I ensure that closed set protocols are observed to protect actors’ privacy and the network.

  • I am in close communication with the script supervisor and Director to uphold the limits of the rider during shooting.

Establish and Nurture a Safe Creative Environment

  • I guide actors to establish clear boundaries so they have a structure in which to play.

  • With my knowledge of choreography, masking, and a nuanced understanding of an actor’s limits I can help bring the showrunner and director’s vision to life while respecting the actors’ boundaries. The creative problem-solving required to find the way to stay true to the story while not pushing or pressuring anyone is simple yet subtle.

  • I consult on topics of sexuality, prosthetics, LGBTQIA+ issues, ethical non-monogamy and alternative relationship models, kink, and more to make your project more realistic and prevent Twitter storms around inaccurate depictions of various communities and types of relationships.

  • With my unique set of skills, actors emotionally so that they feel safe and comfortable on set and can access their flow.

  • I can help actors with modesty garments and ensure they have their preferred options from Costumes. Particularly when it comes to gender identity, this can be a sensitive topic for many actors.

Choreography

  • Discussing the tone of the scene with the showrunner and director in order to devise an intimate scene while bearing in mind the moment before, the place within a relationship, and what kind of day this is helps the scene clearly and concisely convey that creative vision.

  • Choreographing helps put actors at ease because they know ahead of time exactly what they will be doing. The mystery and nervous anticipation are removed from the equation.

  • Running a rehearsal until the movement sequence becomes embodied like a dance helps the actors explore creatively within limitations while they feel safe. As we all know, actors give their best performances when they feel safe ♡
